BlackRock names McCombe as Asia-Pacific chairman; Fung named as CEO of HSBC Hong Kong

BlackRock has hired HSBC veteran Mark McCombe to succeed Rohit Bhagat as chairman of Asia-Pacific. Anita Fung, most recently head of global banking and markets for the Asia-Pacific, named chief executive of HSBC in Hong Kong

BlackRock has hired former HSBC Hong Kong chief executive Mark McCombe as its new chairman for Asia-Pacific, as the asset manager seeks to accelerate its growth within the region.

McCombe will become a member of BlackRock's global executive and operating committees, reporting to chairman and chief executive, Laurence Fink. He succeeds Rohit Bhagat, who is approaching the end of a two-year commitment to serve as chairman of Asia-Pacific at the US asset management company.
