Avoca Capital lifts out Liontrust’s credit team

Simon Thorp and his team continue to run two credit funds

European credit investment manager Avoca Capital Holdings has bought out the management contracts for the two credit funds run by hedge fund Liontrust.

In the process, Avoca will also hire Liontrust’s five person credit team, which is led by portfolio manager Simon Thorp. The move will enable Avoca, which has to date specialised in running long-only credit funds, to offer clients long-short credit capability.
