Nomura appoints Benson as vice-chairman, risk and regulatory affairs

Japanese firm names David Benson for London-based role.

Nomura has appointed David Benson to the newly created role of vice-chairman, risk and regulatory affairs, which will be based in London. Benson will oversee regulatory compliance at the Japanese firm, and will advise senior management on the impact of financial legislation on risk management strategy. He begins his new position on January 25.

Benson has been with Nomura for 11 years, and was named as the company's chief risk officer in November 2008. He will remain a director of Nomura
