SEC risk chief to step down

First head of regulator's risk division will return to academia in January

Henry Hu, the first director of the US Securities and Exchange Commission's division of risk, strategy and financial innovation, is to resign in January 2011 and return to academia. Hu will return to the University of Texas' law school in Austin, where he is the Allan Shivers professor of banking and finance law.
