FTSE has hired Luca Filippa to head its Italian office, which opened earlier this year. In his role as managing director, based in Milan, Filippa will lead the development of the business in Italy.

FTSE will focus on working with the financial industry to make sure it can tailor its offerings to meet the needs of the market, says Filippa.

The interest in Italy follows the merger of the London Stock Exchange and Borsa Italiana in 2007, at which point FTSE took control of the Italian indexes.
