Deutsche Bank nabs Mayer and Cai from UBS

Jeffrey Meyer will become new head of global markets for North America, while Cai takes responsibility for corporate and investment banking in Asia.

Jeffrey Mayer will leave UBS to join Deutsche Bank as head of global markets for North America later this year. Based in New York, he will report to Anshu Jain, who was appointed sole head of the corporate and investment bank in July.

Mayer has been executive chairman of fixed income, currencies and commodities at UBS since January 2010, where is also head of complex structured products. From 2008 to January 2010, he was the firm’s co-head of FICC.
