Pimco recruits chief for Asia-Pacific office

Ki Myung Hong joins the asset manager from Bank of America Merrill Lynch.

Pimco has recruited Ki Myung Hong to head up its Asia-Pacific business. Hong will oversee the firm’s offices in Hong Kong, Singapore, Sydney and Tokyo. He reports to chief operating officer Douglas Hodge, and is based in Hong Kong.

Hong has spent 27 years working in financial services, and joined Pimco from Bank of America Merrill Lynch in Hong Kong, where from September 2009 he was vice chairman for Asia-Pacific.
