BNY Mellon names chief administrative officer for Asia Pacific

The US bank views the appointment as critical to ensure its infrastructure is in place to meet aggressive growth targets in Asia

BNY Mellon, the asset management and securities servicing company, has appointed Daniel Smith to the post of chief administrative officer for the Asia-Pacific region. Smith will report to Chris Sturdy, chairman of Asia Pacific, replacing Lee Stephens who has relocated to the US for an unspecified new senior role in the bank's Washington, DC office.

Smith joined BNY Mellon in 1987 and has since held a number of senior management positions in the US, including most recently chief administrative
