New CRO for Harvard

Neil Mason has joined Harvard Management Company, which manages Harvard University's $26 billion endowment, as chief risk officer. Mason joins from FRM Capital Advisors in London, where he was chief investment officer.He succeeds Daniel Kelly, who left the company last year, and will report to the chief executive, Jane Mendillo.

The fund suffered a severe drop in late 2008, with the endowment value falling 30% by the end of the financial year in June 2009.
