SEC names new head of inspections
The US Securities and Exchange Commission has named Carlo di Florio as the new director of its office of compliance inspections and examinations. Di Florio, previously a partner in PricewaterhouseCoopers' financial services regulatory practice, fills the seat left vacant by Lori Richards in July last year. Richards resigned in the wake of the discovery of the Bernard Madoff fraud, which had been overlooked by her office despite three separate inspections of Madoff's investment company between
