Hoare Capital adds to dealing and sales teams

Agency broker Hoare Capital is expanding its credit, ABS and inflation teams. Andrew Sheppard joins the firm as head of dealing, and Sergio Marques will work as senior credit sales specialist for France and Iberia. Sheppard has traded for 23 years at JP Morgan, WestLB and LBBW, while Marques joins after a year in a sales role at Bank of America. Prior to that he worked for Deutsche Bank. Both Sheppard and Marques will report to Tim Cartmell, partner at Hoare Capital.

Also joining is Richard Gathercole, who will head the corporate credit sales team, concentrating on high yield and distressed debt. Gathercole has 27 years’ experience in the financial markets, and joins after two years at Bank of Scotland where he held a similar capital markets role. Rufus Alcott, an ex-Henderson Global Investors dealer and Dresdner salesman, will specialise in UK funds.

Former Dresdner bankers Iglika Bostandzhieva and Joe McGrath have joined the broker in emerging markets sales. New to the inflation team is Rhona Herbert, who leaves UBS after six years to work with Ike Benson, Ziv Okun and James Riley on inflation swaps. 
 
Partners Tim Cartmell and Nick Hoare are also looking make recent starter Mark Rogers, head of ABS sales, a partner in “due course”. Rogers had 23 years of senior sales experience at HVB and UBS prior to his four years at Commerzbank. He reports to Cartmell.
