The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission elects new solicitor

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission has appointed Robert H. Solomon, a veteran Commission staffer, as the Commission's new solicitor.

As solicitor, Solomon is responsible for defending the Commission's orders and initiatives before the US Courts of Appeals and the US Supreme Court.

Solomon, deputy solicitor since September 2001 and acting solicitor since November 2005, has presented oral argument before the Courts of Appeals on behalf of the Commission approximately 50 times in the past.
