Valensise takes over top job at Barings

Marino Valensise has taken over as chief investment officer at Baring Asset Management, the London-based investment management firm.

The move, which was initially announced in July, sees previous CIO Michael Hughes move into a consultancy role until his retirement at the end of the year.

Valensise has worked at the firm since 1999 and his previous position was head of fixed income and currency.
