Credit Suisse names EMEA head

Credit Suisse has appointed Eric Varvel as chief executive officer of the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region. Varvel is based in London and reports to Brady Dougan, chief executive of Credit Suisse. He also becomes a member of the executive board.

Varvel succeeds Michael Philipp, who was chairman and CEO of the EMEA region for three years. Philipp steps down as a member of the executive board to assume a new role as chairman of Middle East and Africa, focusing on clients in the region
