What makes a good credit analyst?

Part of our job is to meet credit research teams to identify the ones that we believe will generate the best performance for our clients. We often find ourselves asking: what traits are common to the best credit analysts we have met? In many respects, the qualities we are looking for mirror those that managers of research teams look for when they hire credit analysts. So we asked for their views.
