BNP Paribas makes structured rates hire

BNP Paribas has hired Kara Lemont Sportelli for its fixed-income derivatives structuring group. Lemont Sportelli will focus on engineering exotic interest rate and hybrid derivatives products for investors and liability managers. She is based in London and reports to Patrik Sandin, head of interest rate derivatives structuring.

Lemont Sportelli joins from CIBC World Markets in London, where she has been managing director and head of the derivatives products structuring team since 1995.

Commenting on the appointment, Stefano Paschetto, head of European fixed-income derivatives marketing, said: “Kara brings a wealth of experience to BNP Paribas, and will further strengthen our interest rate structuring capability. We will continue to expand with additional key hires in this important growth area for the firm.”
