Changing hats
Peter Dittus
has been named by the Bank for International Settlements as its new secretary general for a five-year term. He replaces Gunter Baer, who has held the position since 1994. Dittus joined the BIS in 1992 as an economist, and following several internal posts was named deputy secretary general in 2000. He now takes responsibility for the provision of corporate services within the BIS. Before joining the BIS, Dittus was an economist at the World Bank and the OECD.Laura Cox
