Bruce Munro became group chief risk officer (CRO) at Melbourne-based National Australia Bank (NAB) on October 1. He has relocated from Hong Kong, where he was Asia chief executive of nabCapital, NAB's investment bank.

The former CRO, Michael Hamar, will retire from full-time work in January 2009, when Munro will formally replace him. Hamar joined NAB in December 2004 on a four-year contract to transform the risk capability of the group, including building a risk team that is now fully aligned
