BoA promotes veteran to head of forex

Bank of America (BoA) has filled the role of head of global foreign exchange with the internal promotion of Christiane Mandell. Based in New York, she will keep this role for the enlarged bank following the forthcoming merger with FleetBoston Financial.

Mandell was previously head of investor client management for equities and debt, as well as head of institutional sales for debt. She takes up her new position having spent 15 years with the US bank she joined as a forex adviser. She reports to Jonathan Moulds, BoA’s head of liquid products, and has a number of departmental heads reporting to her, including Mark Mullet, New York-based head of forex options trading.

Moulds said her understanding of the institutional market, along with her knowledge of foreign exchange, was key to her appointment to the post.

“We will be looking to Chris to leverage her extensive knowledge and experience with the institutional marketplace to accelerate our growth with institutional investors in foreign exchange and overall liquid product areas,” he added.
