SAP poaches Misys Asia-Pacific head

Murray Sargant left his post as Asia-Pacific managing director in treasury and capital markets at software vendor Misys in mid-December to join business software supplier SAP.

Still based in Hong Kong, Sargant now looks after SAP’s relationship with Misys. A replacement has been identified and will be announced in the coming weeks. The new appointment is an external one, following a search encompassing candidates from inside and outside Misys, says a source close to the company.

Germany-based SAP is the world’s biggest inter-enterprise software vendor and provides, among other things, systems for managing financial, asset and cost accounting.

London-based Misys supplies software covering areas including asset/liability management, Basel II, over-the-counter derivatives, structured trading and treasury. The company’s client base largely comprises banks.
