Ex-Lehman banker joins Standard Chartered

Christian Wait, former New York-based global head of credit sales at Lehman Brothers, has been appointed global head of capital markets at Standard Chartered, the emerging markets-focused bank listed in London and Hong Kong.

Wait will be based in Singapore, reporting to Lenny Feder, group head of financial markets. He replaces interim co-heads Deepak Kohli and Philip Cracknell, who had jointly shared duties following the departure of previous capital markets head Brad Levitt in March.

During a 23-year stint at Lehman, Wait had held several senior posts, including global head of collateralised debt obligations and structured credit sales and European and Asian head of debt capital markets.
