BoA hires global markets head in Hong Kong

Bank of America (BoA) has hired Abidin Siregar in a newly created role as head of global markets, Hong Kong. He will assume responsibility for sales, trading and research as well as building the bank’s debt capital raising business across the region.

The position was established in response to growing market demand for local currency debt capital raising, said Goetz Eggelhoefer, head of global markets, Asia. “We expect client demand for local currency securitisation and structured fixed-income products to increase further over the next 12 months,” he said.

Siregar joins the bank FleetBoston Financial Group where he was head of origination and debt capital raising - a position he held for five years. He began his career at Citibank, where he held a variety of positions over seven years.

“The appointment is part of our ongoing commitment to reorganising business to meet the demands of the market and placing strong performers in key positions in the region,” said Colm McCarthy, president, Bank of America Asia.
