Bear Stearns ramps up Asian equity derivatives business

Bear Stearns has hired Kin Cheung to head its equity derivatives trading business in Asia, including Japan. Cheung will report to Steve Meyer, senior managing director and head of global equity derivatives trading in New York, and Leonard Feder, senior managing director and head of fixed-income and derivatives trading in Japan.

Cheung joins Bear Stearns from Lehman Brothers in Tokyo, where he was a senior vice-president and head of equity derivatives trading for Japan and Asia.

Previously Cheung had worked for Salomon Brothers in New York, Hong Kong and Tokyo in various roles, including head of equity derivatives trading for Asia and head of fixed-income derivatives trading for Japan.
