UBS names global capital markets heads

UBS has appointed Roberto Isolani and Matthew Koder as co-heads of its global capital markets (GCM) business, which is a recently merged division of the bank's equity capital markets and debt capital markets divisions.

Before this, Isolani was head of debt capital markets and structured solutions, Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) and Asia, a role he had held since February 2007. He joined the bank in 1992. Koder was previously joint global head of equity capital markets. They both will be based in London.

Regional appointments to the GCM business include David Soanes, who will lead the EMEA region, Tom Fox as head of Americas, and Steven Barg, who takes responsibility for Asia. Soanes will continue as co-head of the financial institutions coverage group in fixed income, currencies and commodities, jointly with Jamie Robinson. Fox has been joint global head of equity capital markets for the past two years and Barg previously managed the Asian equity capital markets group.
