Barclays Global Investors makes Asian hires

Barclays Global Investors (BGI), one of the world’s largest asset managers with $1.8 trillion under management, has made three appointments for its Asian business.

Nick Good becomes head of iShares for the Asia-Pacific region and will remain in San Francisco for the time being. iShares is the largest exchange-traded funds provider in the world, and Good is now responsible for the business across Australia, China, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, South Korea and Taiwan. He was previously head of strategy and planning for both iShares and BGI’s Institutional Index businesses globally.

Fred Horsey becomes Hong Kong-based chief operating officer of BGI Asia excluding Japan. Before this move, he worked for 10 years at JP Morgan and its predecessor firms, most recently as head of Asia product development.

Veronica Lam has also joined BGI Asia ex-Japan in Hong Kong to strengthen the business development and client service team for BGI’s North Asian clients. Lam previously worked at Fidelity Investments Management as a senior manager in the institutional business in Hong Kong.
