SG, the investment banking arm of French bank Société Générale, has hired Richard Hopkin as deputy head of its European securitisation team.

Hopkin joins from Deutsche Bank, where he spent six years building the German bank’s securitisation credentials. Previously he worked for JP Morgan.

“Securitisation is a key component of SG’s strategy of delivering integrated funding and balance sheet solutions to our global client base,” said Hopkin’s new boss, SG head of European securitisation, Jean-Francois Despoux.SG employs about 100 staff in its securitisation team, which closed more than 60 transactions around the world last year.
