StanChart appoints three in FX and rates

Standard Chartered has made three new appointments to its foreign currency options and interest rates derivatives desks based in London.

Calyon’s former global head of foreign exchange options, Keith Underwood, will join Standard Chartered as global head of forex exotics trading. He will focus on developing the bank’s exotic option business, and will report to Richard Leighton, global head of forex options.

Laurent Gaillard moves internally to the role of regional head of interest rates derivatives for the UK and Europe. Previously, he was involved in developing the bank’s G10 interest rate derivatives trading capability.

Gaillard will be joined at the interest rates desk by Nafees Akbarali, who was previously in charge of non-European interest rate options trading at Bank of America. In his new role, Gaillard will be head of G3 interest rate options for wholesale banking. Both Gaillard and Akbarali will report to Greg Clinton, global head of interest rates derivatives.
