FPP expands Ukrainian investment-management team

Fabien Pictet & Partners (FPP), a London-based fund-management company, has recruited Daniel Rutz to head its Ukrainian investment-management team.

Rutz's team manages the Ukraine Opportunity Trust, a listed investment trust for which FPP is investment manager and co-ordinator. Euroventures, the Kiev-based investment adviser to the Ukraine Opportunity Trust, will work closely with the FPP team. Rutz joins from Goetzpartners Corporate Finance, where he worked for seven years as director of media and communications.

“We have now put considerable resources into Ukraine. Rutz, working with our local partner, Euroventures, will be responsible for sourcing further high-return opportunities,” said Fabien Pictet, group chairman and head of private equity.

"With Ukrainian political developments very much in the news at the moment, we are demonstrating our long-term commitment to investing here. The government is likely to be in turmoil for the coming weeks, but we intend to carry on closing investments as before," said Leslie Hawrylyshyn, co-managing partner of Euroventures.
