Mizuho adds two to Tokyo equity derivatives trading team

Mizuho Securities has added two new hires to its equity derivatives trading team in Tokyo. Chea Srun joined from Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein and Nav Takhar from Toronto Dominion Bank. Both will work as traders.

Paul O’Brien, head of equity derivatives at Mizuho in Tokyo, told RiskNews the hires would not necessarily increase the overall headcount within the Japanese bank's equity derivatives unit, as a number of staff have moved departments or left Mizuho during the past few months.

O'Brien did say the firm was expanding its business overall, but declined to comment further.
