

Norinchukin’s paper losses double to record high
Latest AOCI fluctuation knocks 29% off CET1 capital
Unrealised losses at The Norinchukin Bank rose to a record high in the three months to March 31, contributing to a 1.8 percentage point drop in its core capital ratio.
The bank’s paper losses, accounted for in accumulated other comprehensive income (AOCI), doubled to ¥1.79 trillion ($11.4 billion) at the end of the Japanese financial year, surpassing the previous high of ¥1.6 trillion six months
