At its AGM in Tokyo this week, the International Swaps and Derivatives Association appointed four new board directors: Erik Tim Müller, chief executive officer of Eurex Clearing AGJared Noering head of fixed income trading at NatWest MarketsBrad Tully, global head of corporate derivatives and private side sales at JPMorgan; and Jan Mark van Mill, managing director, multi-asset, at APG Asset Management.

The Isda board, chaired by Eric Litvack of Societe Generale, also elected 10 directors for a continuing term, and reappointed a further three. Litvack was elected to a continuing term at Isda’s 2023 AGM.


John O’Callaghan has joined Crédit Agricole, as head of US dollar interest rate swaps and Treasuries trading, in New York, as first reported by Risk.net. He joins after five years on the buy side, latterly as a portfolio manager for Garda Capital Partners and previously as a trader at Tenaron Capital Management. Prior to this, O’Callaghan was Barclays’ head of US dollar interest rate swaps and global head of rates e-trading. He takes on some of the earlier responsibilities of Eric Duclos, who was head of US dollar rates trading before leaving for BNP Paribas in May 2023.


Philip Berlinski, global treasurer of Goldman Sachs, is reportedly leaving the firm after more than 25 years to join hedge fund giant Millennium as co-chief operating officer. Berlinski was also chief executive officer of Goldman Sachs Bank USA and a member of Goldman’s management committee, among other firmwide committees. He was previously chief operating officer of global equities and, earlier, co-head of global equities trading and execution services. He joined the firm as an analyst in equity derivatives research in 1998, becoming a partner in 2008.

It’s understood Berlinski will be replaced as global treasurer by Carey Halio, another 25-year veteran of the firm, who moves from her previous role as chief strategy officer and head of investor relations. Taking up her new role, Halio also officially joins Goldman’s management committee.


At Barclays, David Garner has been appointed global head of securitised products and bond trading. He leaves Atlas SP Partners to begin his new role in June. He will report to Scott Eichel, global head of securitised products.

Changes loom at Lloyd’s, where Dawn Miller has been appointed chief commercial officer and CEO of Lloyd’s Americas, based in New York. She will take up the role on September 1. Miller continues to lead the firm’s commercial directorate, and retains responsibility for Lloyd’s global network. Marc Lipman becomes president, Lloyd’s Americas, based in Canada, also from September 1. Lipman joined Lloyd’s in June 2020 as attorney-in-fact and president of Lloyd’s Canada. Hank Watkins, regional director and president of Lloyd’s Americas, and a 15-year veteran of the firm, is set to leave at the end of this year.


Michael Fisher has joined Deutsche Bank as head of rates sales coverage for banks, insurance and public-sector entities. He will partner with Jessica Dahlman to grow the hedge fund and asset manager business. Fisher joins from Barclays, where he ran the financial institutions team within rates sales. He reports to Anil Atluri, head of the Americas institutional client group, and a fellow Barclays alumnus.

Fisher’s appointment follows that of Pedro Goldbaum, who became head of dollar non-linear rates and inflation trading and Latin America rates trading at the end of February. He left Citigroup, where he was co-head of rates trading, at the end of 2023. Goldbaum reports to Chris Leonard, co-head of fixed income and currencies in the Americas.


Simon Cooper has left Standard Chartered as part of changes to the group management team. He served the bank for eight years, heading the trading, capital markets and banking unit in Singapore. At the same time, Roberto Hoornweg and Sunil Kaushal were appointed co-heads of corporate and investment banking. Hoornweg was previously global head of financial markets, and Kaushal regional CEO of Africa and Middle East. Hoornweg will take on responsibility for Europe, Americas, Middle East and Africa markets, based in Dubai, and Kaushal will take up responsibility for Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) and south Asia markets, based in Singapore.


Hemish Shah has joined Nomura as head of Europe, the Middle East and Africa (Emea) flow rates in London. He joins from Deutsche Bank, where he was head of European government bonds, bond derivatives and euro inflation trading. This is a newly created role, in which Shah reports to Richard Volpe, global head of rates and Nat Tyce, head of Emea global markets.

Rana Dasgupta has been appointed the bank’s global head of foreign exchange structuring in Singapore. He replaces London-based Tim Owens, who led the global FX structuring business for 12 years and head of structuring, Emea, for almost five years. Dasgupta will retain his current role as Nomura’s head of Asia ex-Japan global market structuring. He continues to report locally to Hamzah Kahloon, the bank’s co-head of global markets sales for Asia ex-Japan, who joined in December 2023 from BNP Paribas.

Alex Grinfeld has joined Liquidnet to co-head the Americas futures division, alongside Brian Cashin, who joined in March 2022 from Bank of America. Grinfeld reports to Mike du Plessis, global head of listed derivatives. Grinfeld was previously a vice-president in futures and derivatives sales trading at Goldman Sachs.


Gregor Feige has been appointed co-head of Americas equity capital markets (ECM) and head of telecoms, media and technology (TMT) at UBS. He joins from Citi, where he was co-head of TMT and ECM. His fellow co-head in the division is Brad Miller, who takes on the role alongside his existing position as head of consumer and retail at UBS.


Marc Francis has been appointed head of high-touch trading on Citi’s Emea equities team. He was formerly head of block trading in equities. Ross Taylor has been appointed head of sales trading for the division. He joined Citi two years ago from Morgan Stanley to run hedge fund sales trading, and subsequently headed developed markets sales trading. The firm says the moves are part of a London reorganisation to boost growth in emerging markets (EMs).


Claudia Jury and Scott Hamilton have been appointed global co-heads of sales and research at JP Morgan. They replace Marc Badrichani, and report to Troy Rohrbaugh and Jennifer Piepszak, co-CEOs of the commercial and investment bank. Jury was previously head of investor client management and platform sales at JP Morgan, and is based in New York City. Hamilton was previously global head of macro sales and FICC e-sales at JP Morgan. He is based in London.

Alaa Bushehri has been appointed head of EM debt at BNP Paribas Asset Management, effective March 1. She has been with BNP Paribas Group for two decades, and was head of EM corporates within the EM debt team for the past 11 years. Bushehri reports to Olivier De Larouzière, chief investment officer for fixed income.


Giorgio Cocini begins a new role at Pimco in June as managing director overseeing the firm’s business in Italy, France and Iberia. He leaves Bank of America, where he was global co-head of financial institutional investment banking. Cocini will report to Craig Dawson, Pimco’s head of Emea.


Steve Bachmann joined DAI Magister, a boutique investment bank, as head of the US and co-head of Europe in early April. He leaves Atlas Technology Group, where he worked for more than a decade in mergers and acquisitions and capital-raising services for software companies. This is a new role, in which he reports to CEO Victor Basta.


Joey Liberator has joined Validus Risk Management as a director with a focus on North American business and risk advisory for private capital. He leaves Morgan Stanley, where he was executive director covering FX and interest rate hedging for its private credit, private equity, infrastructure and real estate funds after almost a decade. Liberator reports to Bryan Cohen, head of North American client coverage.

Helen Whelan has been appointed chief risk officer at Brown Shipley, a Quintet private bank, on March 7, subject to regulatory approval. She joins from LGT Wealth Management, where she worked for 15 years, most recently as head of risk and a member of the management board. Whelan replaces Fiona Woodhouse in the role.


Sean Titley has left Metro Bank as part of headcount cuts in the risk function. He is working independently as a senior risk management consultant, looking primarily at artificial intelligence in the space of enterprise and operational risk management.


Evan Sekeris joined Capital One in March as chief model risk officer. He replaced Dov Haselkorn, now chief operational risk officer. Sekeris was latterly head of non-financial risk for the Americas at MUFG.


Rob Kirby has rejoined QuantHouse as head of Emea sales and business development. He was most recently director of trading and enterprise global strategic partnerships at the London Stock Exchange Group, after leaving QuantHouse in 2011.


Saul Gates was appointed chief financial officer (CFO) at Absolute Software. He joins from a six-year term at Level Access, where he was CFO.

Ralf Prinzler

Ralf Prinzler joins European Commodity Clearing as director of risk management, effective July 1, and, subject to regulatory approval, as chief risk officer from the start of next year. Prinzler was previously head of risk controlling at KfW. He replaces Clemens Völkert, who has been the ECC’s chief risk officer since 2021.


Veronica Lazenby has taken up the role of chief risk officer at TP ICAP, effective February 1. Previously chief risk officer at Jupiter Asset Management, she replaces David Goodchild in the role. Lazenby reports to CEO Nicolas Breteau.

At Jupiter, Gaelle De Sola, head of risk, and Katie Carter, head of compliance, have taken over Lazenby’s former responsibilities.


Sharon Biran has joined the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation as chief client officer and managing director. She joins from Accenture, where she was a managing director and global account leader. Biran replaces Timothy Keady, and she reports to CEO Frank La Salla.


Christopher Skinner has been appointed inspector general at the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission, effective April 10. Skinner joins from the Federal Election Commission, where he had worked since 2019.

Dessislava Guetcheva-Cheytanova was appointed general counsel and member of the executive committee at the Bank for International Settlements on March 12. Her five-year term as general counsel will begin in September. Guetcheva-Cheytanova has served as deputy general counsel at the BIS since March 2020. She replaces Diego Devos, who is retiring.


Marshall Gentry has been appointed deputy to the chairman and chief financial officer at the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. He had been the FDIC’s chief risk officer and director of the office of risk management and internal controls since April 2018. He replaces Bret D Edwards, who retired in February. Elroy Holden will act as chief risk officer in the near term.


Sean Griffin has joined the Loan Syndications and Trading Association as executive director. He left JP Morgan Securities, where he has worked for more than two decades, and was most recently responsible for its global collateralised loan obligation business. At LSTA, Griffin replaces Lee Shaiman, who will be retiring following a term as a senior adviser to the trade group.
