Proposed CCP margin disclosures may be ‘destabilising’, Eurex warns

BCBS-Iosco consultation calls for daily disclosure of margin calls

Calls by regulators for greater transparency into clearing house margin models could have a “destabilising effect” during market stress events, according to Eurex’s models and analytics head. 

In a January 16 consultation, a joint working group of regulatory bodies proposed changes to clearing houses’ public quantitative disclosures (PQDs) that would expand the detail and increase the frequency of reporting from quarterly to daily for many measures.
