As mentioned in the Introduction, the question “where are we heading to?” is probably the most important one. Hence, we saved the answers on that for the last part of the book. In an ideal world, the framework for non-financial risk management would become so effective that no risks would ever materialise – and we could all go home, play golf or whatever pastime you like to pursue.
The reality is – and with almost 100% likelihood will also be in the future – that not even the most sophisticated tools and techniques for managing non-financial risk will get you there.
