Asia moves: Asifma appoints new board chair, HSBC names new head of wealth, and more

The Asia Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association has appointed David Ratliff as chairman of the board, following the completion of Filippo Gori’s two-year term as chairman.
Ratliff, who previously served as chairman from 2012–15, will also become a member of the remuneration committee. Ratliff is head of financial institutions coverage for Asia-Pacific at BNP Paribas.
HSBC has named Maggie Ng as head of wealth and personal banking in Hong Kong.
Ng joins the bank from IG Group, a leading online trading provider, where she is currently chief executive officer (CEO), Greater China. Prior to that, Ng co-founded a fintech wealth management firm. Ng has a total of more than 20 years’ experience in the finance industry.
Ng’s appointment will be effective at the end of the year. Until then Greg Hingston, regional head of wealth and personal banking for Asia-Pacific, will continue to manage HSBC’s wealth management business in Hong Kong until Ng joins. Ng will report to Hingston.
Shanghai-based CCP12, a global association of central counterparties, has appointed Teo Floor as its CEO. Floor will replace Marcus Zickwolff, who became the body’s first CEO in 2017.
Floor has worked at Eurex Clearing since 2008. His most recent position has been as
special adviser to the CEO of the CCP. Within this role, he also served as vice-chair for Europe, the Middle East and Africa in the CCP12 executive committee, as well as co-chair and treasurer in the board of the European Association of CCP Clearing Houses.
Zickwolff will remain in the industry and will continue as managing director of Zire consulting services, a company he founded.
Global investment firm T Rowe Price has appointed Jonathon Ross as head of intermediary for Australia and New Zealand.
Ross, who originally joined T Rowe Price in 2015, will continue to be based in Sydney. He has been acting head of intermediary since May 2020, but he officially stepped into this role at the start of September.
Ross takes over from Darren Hall, who was promoted to head of distribution for Australia and New Zealand. He has also held business development positions at NAB Asset Management and MLC.
Nomura has appointed Ravi Raju as head of international wealth management, based in Singapore. In this newly created role, Raju will be responsible for expanding Nomura’s wealth management business in Asia ex-Japan.
Raju will report to Rig Karkhanis, deputy head of global markets and head of global markets, Asia ex-Japan. He will also have an additional reporting line to Steve Ashley, head of wholesale.
Raju has nearly 30 years of experience in financial markets, most recently as head of ultra high-net-worth and global family office in Asia-Pacific at UBS. He previously spent 10 years at Deutsche Bank, in both Singapore and Hong Kong.
Raju began his career at Citibank, where he held several senior roles in Asia-Pacific and the Middle East.
JP Morgan has appointed Philip Glickman as its new head of merchant services for Asia-Pacific, reporting to Sridhar Kanthadai, head of wholesale payments for Asia-Pacific, and Molly Walsh, head of global product for merchant services.
Glickman has spent more than 20 years in global payments and acquiring. He was previously head of commercial and digital payments for Asia-Pacific at Mastercard. Prior to that, he was head of wholesale cards and payments for Asia at Citibank.
Fidelity International has appointed Victoria Mio as director of Asian equities. Mio joins from Robeco Asset Management, where she was most recently China chief investment officer and co-head of Asia-Pacific equities.
Mio spent a total of 14 years with Robecco in a variety of roles, including managing its flagship China equity fund, its China A-share fund, and leading the team responsible for ESG integration analysis in China. She will report to Ned Salter, head of equities for Asia ex-Japan.
State Street has hired Mostapha Tahiri from BNP Paribas to head up its operations in Asia. Tahiri previously spent 20 years at the French banking group, most recently as head of BNP Paribas Securities Services.
Tahiri replaces Ian Martin, who earlier this year became State Street’s global head of asset owner segment.
State Street has also nabbed another BNP Paribas executive, Joanne Chen, to be its head of China. Chen was most recently head of China financial institutions coverage for the French bank. She has also worked at Deutsche Bank.
Chen will report to Tahiri, while Tahiri will report jointly to Andrew Erickson, head of State Street’s international business, and Francisco Aristeguieta, head of institutional services.
Premia Partners, based in Hong Kong, has appointed Chanyoung Kim as a director and member of its sales and distribution team, reporting to Rebecca Chua, one of the managing partners.
Chanyoung has more than 17 years of experience in the financial industry. He was previously head of ETF sales at Samsung Asset Management, based in Korea. In his latest role he will be based in Hong Kong.
BOA Financial Group, a Hong Kong-based financial services provider, has appointed Jennifer Zhu as senior consultant responsible for brand-building, business development and customer engagement across Asia and Greater China.
Zhu has more than 24 years of experience in the financial industry in mainland China, the US and Canada. She was most recently deputy chairman at Hebei XiongAn Liandian Technology.
She has also worked at DBS, Westpac and Standard Chartered.
