Swiss banks’ market risk drops by $12 billion

Lower risk levels drive quarter to quarter fall

The two largest Swiss banks cut market risk-weighted assets by a combined 27% to Sfr32 billion ($33 billion) over the second quarter.

UBS reduced its market RWAs by Sfr10 billion (45%) to Sfr12.4 billion, and Credit Suisse by Sfr2 billion (10%) to Sfr19.6 billion.
