Loan growth contributes to C$22 billion increase

Royal Bank of Canada’s (RBC) risk-weighted assets increased 4.8% quarter-on-quarter as a result of business growth and changes to its retail lending risk parameters. 

Total RWAs stood at C$489 billion ($378 billion) at the end of the second quarter – up C$22 billion from the first quarter, and reversing a decline of C$8 billion from the last quarter of 2017.
