Whether in banking or energy, most cyber breaches start with human error
Ask a bank’s chief risk officer what keeps them awake at night, and surprisingly few of the worries on the list they rattle off will be financial risks. Likewise, a senior risk manager at a clearing house – institutions whose raison d’être is to manage and mitigate default risk – recently confided that he spends “most, if not all” of a typical day worrying about non-default risks.
