Emmanuel Senyo Fianu
Emmanuel S. Fianu received his BSc. Degree (with honors) in Mathematics from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Ghana, in 2006, a double MSc. degree: in Quantitative Economics from the University of Paris 1 Panthéon Sorbonne, France and MSc. degree in Mathematics and Economics from Bielefeld University, Germany, in 2008 and 2009 respectively, and the Ph.D degree in Economics and Finance from the University of Verona, Italy, in 2013. He was a visiting junior researcher at the Center for Research and Econometric Analysis of Time Series (CREATES) in Aarhus University, Denmark, in 2011-2012. He is currently a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at the Leuphana University of Lüneburg, Germany. He has quite a number of years of experience in research specifically in statistical data analysis, Social choice, financial portfolio management, the economic and quantitative analysis of energy market and environmental projects. His research interests cover Risk management with applications in Energy Markets (Economics), Environmental and Insurance Economics. He was the West African coordinator of the African Chapter of the Erasmus Mundus Students and Alumni Association, in 2011-2013. Dr. Fianu is a member of European Economists Association, European Group of Risk and Insurance Economists and European Association of Environmental Resource Economists.

Luigi Grossi
Luigi Grossi is associate professor of Economic Statistics at the University of Verona (Italy). He obtained his PhD at the University of Bologna and has been assistant professor at the University of Parma. He has been Visiting Fellow at the PennState University (USA) and at the University of Warwick (UK). He has been Associate Fellow at the Department of Economics, University of Warwick. He has worked on many projects financed by the Italian Ministry of Education and by the European Commission about Energy Economics and Robust Statistics. He has been the Guest Editor of a special issue of Energy Economics on "Quantitative Methods for Energy Markets". He has supervised many PhD students and post-doc students engaged in the analysis of Energy Markets. He is author of several papers published on international journals such as Energy Economics, The Energy Journal, Computational Statistics and Data Analysis, Environmental and Ecologicla Statistics.

George Atsalakis
Dr. George Atsalakis is Assistant Professor of Technological Forecasting, at the School of Production Engineering and Management at Technical University of Crete, Greece. He received the Diploma in Business Administration from the Economical University of Athens, Greece. He received the M.Sc. degree in Business Administration and the PhD degree in Stock market forecasting from Technical University of Crete in 2000 and 2006, respectively. Dr. Atsalakis' research interests are focused in the areas of forecasting in the local and international markets, in technological forecasting, in forecasting of entrepreneurship evolution and forecasting of innovative economies and societies. He is using fuzzy, neuro-fuzzy and neural networks as modeling tools. He has published 2 books and over 90 book chapters, scientific journals and conference papers. Dr Atsalakis has also organized and implemented international conferences, specialized seminars and short courses. He also acts as a Referee in various journals concerned with fuzzy, neuro-fuzzy, and neural network modeling.

Dimitris Frantzis
Dimitris Frantzis is a graduate from School of Production Engineering and Management of Technical University of Crete (Greece). He has a master in Engineering Management, which has recently purchase, with specialization in forecasts, using systems of artificial intelligence. Two papers of his scientific work have already been published and there are several other papers to be published soon.

Jan Jantzen
Jan Jantzen (MSc, PhD) works with renewable energy at the Samso Energy Academy, Denmark. The island of Samso erected eleven wind turbines on land and ten wind turbines at sea to become a renewable energy island. Local citizens and the municipality own 19 wind turbines (out of 21). Jan Jantzen is also adjunct professor at the University of the Aegean, Chios island, Greece, where he teaches computer decisions using investment examples from Samso.

Nikolaos Thomaidis
Dr Nikolaos S. Thomaidis received his MSc in Mathematics & Finance from Imperial College London and his PhD in Computational Methods for Financial Engineering from the University of the Aegean, Greece, under the scholarship of "Alexander S. Onassis" Public Benefit Foundation and a grant from Empirikion Foundation. His is currently working as a Lecturer at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. His scientific research focuses on advanced computational-statistical models for time series analysis and their implications for portfolio optimisation, risk management and investment strategies. He has published more than 30 research papers on these topics and also served as a referee in more than 20 prestigious academic journals. Dr Thomaidis has been an active member of various EC-funded research networks, such as the COST European Cooperation in Science and Technology, Action TD1207 "Mathematical Optimization in the Decision Support Systems for Efficient and Robust Energy Networks", and COST European Cooperation in Science and Technology, Action ES1002 "Weather Intelligence for Renewable Energies (WIRE)". Ιn addition to his scientific pursuits, Dr Thomaidis has an ongoing collaboration with industry in the direction of exploring the commercial value of the developed risk management tools and financial trading strategies.

Constantin Zopounidis
Constantin Zopounidis is Professor of Financial Engineering and Operations Research, at Technical University of Crete (Greece), Distinguished Research Professor in Audencia Nantes, School of Management (France), and Senior Academician of both the Royal Academy of Doctors and the Royal Academy of Economics and Financial Sciences of Spain. He is Editor-in-Chief of several major journals. He is also elected President since early 2012, of the Financial Engineering and Banking Society (FEBS). In recognition of his scientific work, he has received several awards from international research societies. Recently, in 2012 he was the recipient of the Long-lasting Research Contribution Award in the field of Financial Engineering & Decision Making by ESCP Europe. In 2013 he received the Edgeworth-Pareto prestigious Award from the International Society of Multicriteria Decision Making. In 2015, the Audencia Nantes School of Business and the Centre for Financial and Risk Management has awarded him by the recipient of his outstanding contribution in the fields of Management Science and Decision Making. He has edited and authored 80 books in international publishers and more than 450 research papers in scientific journals, edited volumes, conference proceedings and encyclopaedias in the areas of finance, accounting, operations research, and management science.
