Citi hires Morgan Stanley oil veteran Randall O’Connor

Head of strategic transactions quits to join Citi as Morgan Stanley pulls back from physical oil trading

Citi has hired Randall O’Connor, a managing director at Morgan Stanley, to become its new North American head of commodity finance, according to a source familiar with the situation. 

Until his departure from Morgan Stanley in April, O’Connor led the bank's strategic transactions group, working on structured deals such as supply-and-offtake agreements with refiners. He also served on the board of directors of TransMontaigne, Morgan Stanley’s US physical oil trading subsidiary. Prior to joining
