The role of market-maker to Asian exchange-traded funds (ETFs) has become a vital one due to the considerable number of funds issued that lack liquidity. Commerzbank spotted the opportunity and, since obtaining its licence on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in May, the bank has already become the official market-maker of 10 ETFs, which otherwise would have had to be delisted, according to sources from the exchange.
