Latitude lights up Europe

The Latitude fund is one of the best new funds in Europe and won last month's Hedge Funds Review performance award in the global macro category. It was also shortlisted in the newcomer category, suggesting just how well it has performed since its launch. Johan Jonson, the risk manager for Latitude spoke to Hedge Funds Review about the fund's strategy and risk policy

Latitude was the top global macro performer over 12 months to 30 April 2005 in Tass's performance tables, returning 40.21% over the period, outrunning by far the sector average of a meagre 3.01%.

In addition, its 12-month volatility of 10.77% undercut all but two of the top-10 ranked funds over this period, rewarding its investors with a maximum drawdown of just 3.01%.

Over the past three months, Latitude had returned 6.52% - outdone only by Odey Eclectica on Tass's database - and had turned in
