The move towards a more regulated environment for financial services could mark a turning point in Bermuda's fortunes as an offshore jurisdiction for hedge funds. The Bermuda Monetary Authority (BMA) is more active in its oversight of hedge funds than its counterparts in rival offshore jurisdictions like the Cayman Islands and the British Virgin Islands (BVI).
