HSBC appoints new head of European credit trading

Asif Godall to replace Paul Gooding, who will lead HSBC’s offshore RMB venture in London

HSBC has named Asif Godall as its new head of European credit trading in London. Godall will begin his new role immediately, and reports to Niall Cameron, global head of credit trading, and Thibaut de Roux, head of global markets for Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Godall joined HSBC in January 2004 as co-head of European credit trading, before moving to head of global macro strategies in 2008. He returns to European credit to focus on expanding HSBC's product offering in the asset class
