Further delay to Omnibus II as European Parliament takes time for scrutiny

Concerns that Solvency II timetable could be delayed as a result

A further delay to a key vote on the Omnibus II directive has increased concerns that Solvency II's implementation in 2014 could be delayed.

The European Parliament's Economic and Monetary Affairs Committee (Econ) was due to vote on the Omnibus II directive on January 24, but the vote has been postponed – the second time in the past month.

A new date has yet to be confirmed, although there are suggestions that it will take place by the end of March.

It has been suggested that the committee
