Market participants in Asia need to focus more on operational risks associated with their resurgent OTC derivatives trading volumes, especially as the market moves towards trade repositories and central counterparty clearing, according to a new report from Celent

Operational risk in the over-the-counter derivatives market has come into sharper focus during the past four to five years, particularly in the wake of the global financial crisis. But more attention is needed, especially given the advent of trade repositories and central counterparty (CCP) clearing in the region, which could pose substantial challenges for smaller dealers, according to a new report, Operational Risk Management in OTC Derivatives in Asia, published by Celent.
