Market snapshot: May 2011

Kick-outs remain popular with the UK market while accelerated growth products come top in the US, expanding their lead on the traditional US favourite, the reverse convertible. Tim Mortimer reviews the markets

Investec Structured Products held onto its top spot for the UK market in March, with Barclays Bank and Morgan Stanley coming second and third, respectively. Between them, the three providers issued more than half of all UK products. In the US, Barclays regained its number one position, with its products accounting for 27% of notional sold during the month. Goldman Sachs took second position, with Citi coming in third.
