MAS appoints Menon as new managing director

The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) has named Ravi Menon as its new managing director. He replaces Heng Swee Keat who is leaving administrative service.

The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) has named Ravi Menon as its new managing director to take over from Heng Swee Keat, who is retiring from administrative service, effective April 2, 2011.

The MAS says under Heng's leadship, the regulator strengthened supervision of financial institutions in Singapore as well as its financial stability, surveillance, research and risk management capabilities. Heng joined the organisation as managing director in June 2005. He will continue as a director on
