UK assets in retail ETFs more than double that of a year ago, says iShares

The number of retail investors using ETFs is rising fast, boosted by regulatory initiatives such as the Retail Distribution Review and greater product knowledge among financial advisers.

Money in UK ETFs keeps rising

The exchange-traded funds (ETFs) sector continues to expand, with UK retail the latest market segment to see substantial growth, according to ETF provider iShares, which reported a 106% increase in assets held in UK wrap platforms last year.

The increase is partly attributed to the rising number of independent financial advisers (IFAs) that recommend the funds for their clients' portfolios.
