Europe Awards 2010

Europe returned to its structured products pomp this year as international investment banks marauded the region seeking with some success. The competition for the country awards, which are contested by product creators and distributors, were evidence of the region's revival. Banks that had spent all year staying quiet about their exploits in Italy, Spain and the Nordic region came to life once the call for entries was sent out.

Europe offers a new and interesting market in listed products that developed early this year and has since thrived. It has not replaced the conventional manufacturer to local bank distributor model, but while that business continues to recover from the financial crisis, good business is being done.
