UBS rebuilds equity derivatives unit in Asia

The Swiss bank has hired Julien Bahurel from Morgan Stanley, promoted Michel Lee and recruited Gilbert Langner from Timber Hill in a bid to rebuild its equity derivatives business in the Asia-Pacific region.

UBS has snared Julien Bahurel as head of equity derivatives sales, Asia-Pacific, from Morgan Stanley, where he held a similar role. Bahurel has more than 10 years' experience in Asian equity derivatives and has extensive global client contacts, especially with hedge funds and fiduciary investors.

The Swiss bank has also promoted Michel Lee as head of structured equity solutions, Asia. Lee has more than 13 years' experience across fixed-income, equity and corporate structured derivatives
